Pope Leo shared his thoughts on the US founding ideals in a July 3 address accepting the Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
While much progress has been made, Bishop Gruss said the stain of abuse remains a “sad and tragic period in the life and history of the Church Church.”
