Pope Leo XIV appointed Oct. 10 Archbishop Vittorio Francesco Viola as the new archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica and the pope’s vicar for Vatican City.
Reyes comes to the role after serving most recently as the Knights of Columbus’ senior vice president of communications.
This will be the 54th International Eucharistic Congress. It has been hosted twice in Australia already: in Sydney in 1928 and Melbourne in 1973.
